Today's soundtrack is Furthermore: Fluorescent Jellyfish, a rap album that was recorded just before we were all relieved to learn that the lights stayed on after Y2K.
This evening, I'm reading the fifth chapter of the second book of Aristotle's Ethics, in which he says that he is coming close to giving a "formal definition of virtue" (p. 62). Before he does, though, he says that the human soul must be capable of having feelings, and it contains our disposition (how likely we are to act on our feelings). He notes that no man can be judged for the way he feels, but he can be judged by the way he acts when faced with circumstances that evoke feelings.
