Today's soundtrack is Christmas With the Mills Family, a Spotify playlist that includes my favourite Christmas songs.

A few weeks ago, I bought a breadboard, some 555 timers, some jumpers, and Jesse Rutherford's book, The Ultimate Beginner's Guide to the 555 Timer. My goal: building an Atari Punk Console.
True to my nature, I jumped straight to the ATP tutorial in the book, tried putting it together, and nothing happened. I screwed up somewhere, but I had no idea where. I started the book over at the beginning and decided to go through the projects sequentially instead. I ended up being able to build a circuit with a blinking red light! I'll call it a win and give the Atari Punk Console a try another day.
